Jo joined us at the start of 2018 having worked for 14 years as a commercial solicitor, specialising in employment law but with contract and property law experience. Jo is utilising her legal background to prepare construction contracts and assist the team with contractual dispute work. Jo is re-training to be a Quantity Surveyor and is currently keenly shadowing and assisting on a range of commercial and luxury domestic projects. Having completed 3 home renovations of her own, Jo enjoys reviewing and measuring drawings and watching the scheme unfold on site. Jo attends site to carry out monthly site visits and valuations and can often be seen on the roof checking the tradesman have done all they have claimed! Jo is also a keen music fan and loves the boys’ choice of radio in the office as with two young children, she is limited to Disney tunes and The Greatest Showman soundtrack at home (which she secretly loves!!).
Mark is our resident Estimator and Cost X software expert with over 10 years of experience. Cost X is renowned world-wide as a leading BIM estimating solution and the estimating team, headed by Mark, use it daily to streamline our measurement processes. Mark holds a degree in Quantity Surveying and is working towards becoming Chartered. Mark specialises in tenders for many of the Contractors that we work with and has a wealth of industry pricing knowledge. When he’s not number crunching Mark spends his time drumming in a band. He’s also renowned for rustling up delicious lunches for the office (although we all know it’s really his lovely wife Ana!).
Matt joined us several years ago as an Apprentice and is now a fully fledged Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Studying day release at Stockport College Matt is looking forward to furthering his career and particularly enjoys the domestic projects we are involved with. Having spent time on site as a joiner before switching to a career in Quantity Surveying, Matt excels in reading drawings and understanding the details at a site level. Matt also has music in his blood and woe betide anyone who switches the office radio when the boys are not looking! Matt also makes a mean brew (although we can’t say that now he’s been promoted!).
Daniel is our newest addition to the team at Construction Q, joining in Summer 2019 having completed an HNC in Construction and Property. We are all looking forward to helping him achieve his goals. Away from the office Danny keeps us all on trend with his impeccable fashion sense and love of music.
